Providence Bay News and Notes

Deanna Dewar and her girls Ava and Sophie surprised everyone with a weekend visit. Ava, 6, had lost her first tooth. Sophie, 5, was anxious to get to see the cousins Grace, Abby and Ben Dewar.

Ted and Marie Arnold of Scarborough and Murray and Janis Arnold of Columbia, Maryland spent a holiday at Lake Manitou and enjoyed the winter weather.

Come out and watch the ladies’ bonspiel at the Providence Bay Curling Rink on February l4-16.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Sheppard family in the passing of Ron.

A big thank you goes out to Becky Smith, Matt Young and Don Orford for helping out at the breakfast at the Curling Club in Providence Bay on Thursday.

Auberge Inn hosted a second chocolate workshop on February 8 with local expert Lisabeth from Ultimately Chocolate. The seven Island participants learned to make truffles from scratch. There were two participants from Sudbury who enjoyed the workshop and visited Manitoulin for the first time. This Family Day weekend Auberge Inn is hosting a group of international students who will enjoy snowshoeing and other winter activities. If you see them make sure to say hello.
