We’re halfway through the annual rifle hunt for deer and welcoming many visitors to our beautiful island to help control the deer population. What a wonderful time for family and friends to gather together to create lasting memories. Enjoy and be safe.

We’ve had some crazy snow and cold for the past while, but it looks like we might get a break from the cold over the weekend and into next week. If you don’t already have your winter tires on, be sure to do so right away. There have been so many vehicles and trucks that have found their way into ditches already, so slow down and drive safe.

The monthly euchre tournament will be held November 27 at 8 pm in the basement of the hall at the Twilight Seniors Club. Bring a partner for a great evening of fun and socializing.

The Manitoulin Meat Boss Spiel will be held November 30, and December 1 and 2 hosted by the Providence Bay Curling Club. This is an open spiel meaning open to men’s, ladies or any combination. The cost is $180 per team plus $20 for the blind Calcutta. Three eight-end games are guaranteed and the first 16 teams are accepted. A delicious dinner is included on Saturday evening.
