POLICE LOOKING FOR MISSING YOUTH IN WIKWEMIKONG

Police are investigating a missing youth complaint that was reported on Monday, April 8th, 2024, at approximately 9:45 PM on the Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.

The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service received a missing youth complaint from a residence in the main village area of Wikwemikong.  The complainant reported that 14-year-old Nika Pitawanakwat had not returned home in over 24 hours.

Nika Pitawanakwat is described as 5 feet 1 inches tall, 150 pounds, black or red shoulder length hair, brown eyes, dark complexion.  She has a “cross” tattoo on middle finger.

She was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black jogging pants and black shoes.

Nika Pitawanakwat was last seen in the main village area of Wikwemikong but is known to frequent the Sudbury area as well.

The family is concerned about her whereabouts.

Police are actively investigating this incident.
