LITTLE CURRENT–The Little Current detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are warning the public to not take drugs that have not been prescribed to them, following a theft on Monday.
Just before noon on February 5, a home on Highway 540 just west of Little Current was broken into, and a quantity of prescription drugs taken.
“In many of these cases, medication is stolen to be sold on the street to individuals unaware of the potential dangers,” OPP Constable Al Boyd, community services officer, stated in a press release.
The press release warns that the stolen medications could be fatal if improperly used.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the medication and the person or persons responsible for the break, enter and theft.
