Perivale Gallery opens this Sunday with Ivan Wheale exhibit unveiling

PERIVALE—Perivale Gallery is celebrating its 35th season this summer, officially opening for the summer this Sunday, May 22 with its annual unveiling (and meet and greet with the artist) of renowned Little Current artist Ivan Wheale’s works.

“Although works of all of our wonderful artists will be displayed, the main focus will be on the unveiling of our beloved Ivan Wheale’s new paintings,” shared Perivale Gallery curator Sharon McMullan. “It will be, essentially, his showcase, and Ivan will be present to greet all visitors to our 35th season’s opening when the doors open at 1 pm.”

Ms. McMullan promises an exciting season at Perivale Gallery with a number of new artists bringing diverse styles, experience and energy to the mix of almost 60 artists and artisans. “There is something for everyone to enjoy,” she said.

Art workshop offerings will also continue throughout the summer led by “vibrant and inspiring” instructors. All levels are welcome.

Perivale Gallery’s annual show, ‘In the Spirit of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven’ will run from July 23 to August 7 and will feature works inspired by Canada’s iconic artists. A number of guest artists, including the famous Charles Pachter, will be in the mix.

Perivale Gallery will be open from 10 am to 5 pm on weekends until mid-June, then daily until mid-September.

The official opening and Ivan Wheale exhibit and meet and greet will take place this Sunday, May 22 from 1 to 5 pm. Perivale Gallery is located at 1320 Perivale Road East, Spring Bay.
