(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – On June 4, 2020, at approximately 10:25 a.m. members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Sudbury-Manitoulin Emergency Services (EMS) responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 6, north of Little Current.
It was determined that a pedestrian was walking on the side of the highway and was struck by a trailer tire that had come off a newer boat trailer.
The 19 year old pedestrian was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police are continuing their investigation.
The OPP reminds the public to inspect their vehicles and trailers to make sure all is in working order prior to heading out on the highways. Let’s keep our highways safe for every user.
