PAUL CADIEUX

Cadieux-DeathApril 30, 1941 – October 28, 2014

With sadness, the family announces Paul’s sudden passing. Born in Mindemoya, son of Charles and Irene Cadieux and step-son of Irene (Tann). Paul was a Queen Scout and a member of the Canadian Air Force. He was employed at General Motors in Oshawa for 17 years. In 1978 he returned with his family to his beloved Island to run Cadieux Clothing. Paul was also a dedicated rural mail carrier for many years on RR#1 Mindemoya. Paul is survived by Margaret, his loving wife of 49 years, his children Yvette (Leigh), Suzette (Marty) and Jean-Paul and his five granddaughters, Katrina, Laryssa, Sierra, Isobel and Memphis. Paul is also survived by his mother-in-law Helen MacLean, sister Rochelle (Wayne) Neal, sister Sherry Hambly, brother-in-law Ernie McDermid, brother Pierre (Teresa), sister-in-law Barbara MacLean, sister-in-law Helen (Ken) Campbell, brother-in-law Rod MacLean, sister-in-law Barbara MacDonald (Michael), sister-in-law Tess MacLean, brother-in-law Dan MacLean (Wally) and his much loved nieces and nephews. Paul loved his family and his dogs, his camp, the outdoors, dancing and of course, regaling us all with a good story. Paul could talk to anyone about anything, and often did. He was a devoted grandfather and friend to many. We will miss him always. Visitation was from 12 pm with Funeral Services at 1 pm on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Mindemoya United Church with Father Henk van Meijel officiating.
