KAGAWONG—Work on a new parking lot off Highway 540 and across the road from Bridal Veil Esso in Kagawong has now been completed. It is the hope of the municipality that it will alleviate some of the public traffic and parking congestion in the area by Bridal Veil Falls and the potential for a serious motor vehicle-pedestrian accident from taking place.
“The work is done on the parking lot,” said Kathy McDonald, clerk of Billings, late last week.
The work on the parking lot, which is located adjacent to Dig and Doug Cedar Furniture, was completed by H and R Noble.
The township will be putting up signage to indicate to visitors and locals of the new parking lot off the highway. And they have requested the Ministry of Transportation to provide larger ‘no parking signs’ on both sides of the highway, and that the Ontario Provincial Police will provide additional enforcement in the area.
