Parker pops a wheely

Nine-year-old Parker Douglas took second place overall in the Northern MX series motocross race and another third-place finish in the older division, ages 10-11, in a competition held the first weekend of October.“We are proud of him for all his hard work,” said Bridget Douglas, Parker’s mother, in a Facebook post. “Some of his highlights this weekend: the gate didn’t drop, and Parker popped a wheely over the gate getting in first. He had a wipe out but still continued to race. He has the heart of a winner,” posted Ms. Douglas. “We no longer have a platform for MX riders on Manitoulin.” However, “he is still competing (despite) having no race track to practice on. He is still a fierce competitor without any sponsorship from local vendors or support. We cheer you on Parker! We will do anything to try and keep your dream alive! Please cheer him on; he needs to know he is doing something amazing!”
