Paper bags are an option at some local grocery stores

0

To the Expositor:

I occasionally shop in a local grocery store and realized recently that they carry paper bags for packing, but keep them under the counter. I usually try to find a box, but on occasion have had to purchase a plastic bag. Apparently, if you ask, you can get paper bags instead. If I’m going to pay for a bag I’d much rather use paper than plastic. While I understand that plastic may be more suitable for some situations, considering the global awareness of the plastic problem (if not a short visit to any of our landfill sites), I think perhaps the grocery store might want to consider doing something to encourage the use of paper over plastic.

Sincerely,

David Samuels
