OPP detachment commander receives his inspector badge

MANITOULIN—Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment commander Robert Walsh officially received his inspector badge earlier this month.

“My actual commissioning took place previously; I was hired as (detachment commander) on July 24, and this week I received my official badge at a meeting in North Bay,” Detachment Commander Walsh explained last week.

As was previously reported, Detachment Commander Walsh joined the OPP in 2007 as a provincial constable and was posted to the Huron County Detachment, West Region.

In 2017 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant at the Superior East detachment, Northeast Region and in 2019, he commenced his role as the operations manager for the East Algoma detachment.
