OPP charge Iron Bridge man with sexual interference


BLIND RIVER – On February 24, 2014, East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment received a complaint of sexual related allegations involving a person under 16 years of age. 

Officers with the East Algoma OPP Detachment and the East Algoma Crime Unit conducted an investigation and as a result have arrested and charged Guy WEST, 65, of Iron Bridge, ON with the following offences:

–  Sexual Interference with a person under 16 years of age  – Sec. 151(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); 

–  Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age  – Sec. 271 CC;

–  Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm  – Sec. 91(1) CC;

–  Careless  storage  of a firearm  – Sec. 86(1) CC; and with

–  Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana -Sec. 4(1) of the Controlled Drug Substances Act (CDSA).

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on May 1, 2014.
