Lavina died peacefully at Wikwemikong Nursing Home. Predeceased by parents Mary Elizabeth Wabange-Eshkibag (M’Chigeeng) and John Wagosh (Wikwemikong). Sister of Ida Hare (Patrick) both predeceased, Catherine Eshkibok (predeceased), Christine Panamick (James predeceased), Ernest Eshkibok (predeceased), Raymond Eshkibok (predeceased), Stanislaus Eshkibok (predeceased) all of M’Chigeeng, and Theodore Fox-Eshkibok (Delores) predeceased of Chapleau. Special visitation at her home from 6 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 36 Willow Street, Wikwemikong. Resting following in Kaboni at St. Anthony Daniel Church on November 7 and 8, 2013 commencing at 2 pm. Funeral Mass was held on November 9, 2013 at 11 am at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni. Cremation to Follow. “Lavina” was a mother of 13 children; Lloyd, predeceased (Judy T./Judy A.), Adolphus (friend Stella Rose/Shirley), Wilfred (Marjorie, Chapleau), Theresa (Henry), Joseph (Elise), Loretta (friend Gary), Timothy (Elizabeth), Juanita, Roger (Rachel), Rachel (Douglas), and predeceased by three babies. “Lavina’s” paternal aunts and uncles; children of Madeline Peltier and Louis Wabange: Genevieve Wabange (Jean Baptiste Esni), Joseph Wabange (Marie Ebins), Josette Wabange (Ignace Bebonaang), Cecile Wabange (David Debassige), Marie Wabange (Andree Ewegabow), and Raphael Wabange (Eliza Jawanigwana) all predeceased. “Lavina’s” maternal aunts and uncles; children of Alexis Wawachkech and Isabelle Assiniwe (Madeline Peltier’s brothers and sisters): Marianne, Alexander, Basile, Henriette, Jean Baptiste, Marie Louise, Onesime, and Therese all predeceased. John Wagosh Sr. and Marcelline Odjik’s children, Lavina’s step-siblings: Virgina, Wilfred, Onesime, Marie Louise, Maria Magdalena, Lucy, Jean Jr. (John Fox Jr.), Irene (Peter Medweiash), Esther (Andre Animikwaam), Clarence, Clara, Charlotte, and Adeline Wagosh (Alphonse Mishibinijima), all predeceased. John Wagosh Sr.’s parents were Magdeleine Wabanosse and Jean Baptiste Wagosh. His siblings were Alexis (Hermine Oshkabewisens), Baby Boy, Isaac, Jean Baptiste (Marie Ojik), Louise, Marie, Pierre, and Sophie Wagosh all predeceased. During her time with us, Grandma-Great Nookii, Mom-Mother enjoyed raising her children in Kaboni. She was married to Frank Cooper-Nowquaikezhikgoquai in 1946. Lavina and her life-long friend Clarence Johnnie Enosse (predeceased) coincided together for many years in Kaboni. Forty years ago (1973), Lavina moved to the village of Wikwemikong. She was blessed solely with great-great grandchildren, great grandchildren, grandchildren, and many adopted children of friends, relatives, and immediate family.
