KAGAWONG—This year’s Big Buck and Doe contest drew 92 entries (camps and individuals), up eight percent from last year.
The winning buck was a whopping 208 pounds (field dressed) from the Laurence Brisco hunt camp.
Proceeds from this year’s contest were earmarked for the Kennedy family who lost their home to a fire last month. Cash prizes were given to the biggest buck, doe and mystery weight.
Over $500 was raised for the Kennedy family. Island and surrounding area businesses also generously donated items for the contest this year.
Debbie Graham, owner of Bridal Veil Esso (who organizes the contest), would like to thank all those who entered and to the businesses who donated prizes.
