‘The Library of Lost and Found’ by Phaedra Patrick

‘Horizon’ – Taking us nearly from pole to pole—and across decades of lived experience—Barry Lopez gives us his most far-ranging yet personal work to date in a book that moves through six regions of the world: from western Oregon to the High Arctic; from the Galapagos to the Kenyan desert; from Botany Bay in Australia to finally, unforgettably, the ice shelves of Antarctica. This is a very interesting read and very different from what I normally read. Try it, you may enjoy it too.

‘The Last Second’—Galactus, France’s answer to SpaceX has just launched a communications satellite into orbit, but the payload actually harbors a frightening weapon: a nuclear-triggered electromagnetic pulse (EMP). When it gets in position, Dr. Nevaeh Patel will have the power to lay waste to the world with this weapon. A good read.

‘Blood Oath’—Assistant DA Alexandra Cooper of the Manhattan Sex Crimes Unit is finally back at work following a leave of absence, and not a moment too soon. With more women feeling empowered to name their abusers. Alex is eager to return to the courtroom to do what she does best. But even she can’t anticipate the complexity of her first case when she meets Lucy, a young woman who testified years earlier at a landmark federal trial and now reveals that she was sexually assaulted by a prominent official during that time. When unearthed secrets begin to collide in dangerous ways, and the truth must be uncovered, no longer is it just a sexual assault case but something even worse.

‘Midnight at the Wandering Vineyard’ – Wild horses get broken only once. The human heart? That’s a different story. Mallor is sreturning home to the heat and vines of Southern California in search of the peach she can’t find in the city. Her parents’ vineyard is an escape for tourists, but full of mixed memories for Mallory. But can things ever go back to the way they once were—in the days before that long, hot heartbreaking summer?

‘The Library of Lost and Found’—A librarian’s discovery of a mysterious book sparks the journey of a lifetime in the delightful new novel. A heartwarming and poignant tale of how one woman must take control of her destiny to write her own happy ending.

Hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather finally. Almost time to sit out on the deck and read a good book.

Have a happy Easter and see you at your library.
