NANCY LOUISE BOYNE
Sunrise April 29, 1942 – Sunset September 7, 2022
Nancy passed away at the Espanola Regional Hospital with loving family by her side. Devoted mother of Tracy Tooley (husband Clint). Cherished grandmother Nookomis to Fielding—the “apple of her eye.” Born in Espanola to Vera Callaghan (nee Bateman) and John Gilmour, stepdaughter of James “Jim” Callaghan (all predeceased). Loving sister to Helen Aelick of Hanmer (Cliff predeceased), Graham Gilmour (Jane) of Font Hill, Bryan Gilmour (Joan) (both predeceased). Special sister-in-law to Jim Brown of Calgary. Godmother to Lena Jacko of Manitouwadge. Will be missed by many extended family and friends. Special thank you to Tania, Sara and Lori at VON for their support, as well as Sharon at the Espanola Regional Hospital. She spoke so highly of you all. She was a strong-willed woman who would think of others before her needs. She enjoyed sharing long distance calls of funny stories with her sister Helen. We were so blessed by her love. She was an outstanding Mom and role model in her compassionate and feisty (aka bull-headed) ways. Anything she put her mind to she excelled with ease. Health care, seamstress (in which she also taught students at Cambrian College), carpenter to knitting. She would take on upholstery projects, repair frozen pipes in the winter and the list goes on and on. (PS: if you are in need of wool please contact me; there is enough to go around). She held many positions in her career from health care aide, janitor, matron guard, to taxi driver. Proud member of Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation, descendant of Chief George Abotossaway. Bestowed with the Anishnawbe name of Waabshki N’biish Mishkikii Kwe (White Water Medicine woman) of the Sturgeon Clan. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation Band Office Community Centre on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Internment at the Mountainview Cemetery on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11 am. If so desired, donations may be made in her memory directly to Manitoulin Pet Rescue. Arrangements have been entrusted with Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Online condolences can be posted at www.Rangerssudbury.com.
