MSS tennis championship

M’CHIGEENG—The Manitoulin Secondary School (MSS) Mustangs tennis team won the North Shore Secondary School Association (NSSSA) championship held on May 13 at the MSS tennis courts.

MSS walked away with the team championship, with Jack Pennie winning the boys’ singles, Tessa Merrylees winning the girls’ singles division, Grace Pennie and Zee Toulouse taking top spot in girls’ doubles and Aspen Debassige and Eli Lock in mixed doubles. 

These players advanced to compete in Sudbury for the Northern Ontario Secondary School championship on May 24. The Mustangs mixed team, Aspen Debassige and Eli Lock won two of their three games and have advanced to the provincials, taking place next week in Toronto.
