MSS Kids in the Halls

Welcome back, Mustangs! A special welcome to all Grade 9s and new students! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! Today is the first day of school for students, which means you can see the excitement, the joy and anticipation on student faces as they wander the halls and reconnect with friends they haven’t seen all summer. What an exciting time for everyone! A back to school joke for you:

This year is the 50th anniversary of Manitoulin Secondary School! Over the course of the school year there will be many special events to celebrate this milestone. Keep reading “Kids in The Hall” throughout the year to stay up to date with all the events that are happening at MSS!

As a result of the construction, the Grade 9 barbecue that was scheduled to take place on August 28 was cancelled. Instead orientation activities for Grade 9s are scheduled for today, the first day of school.

Over the summer, the cafeteria, office, guidance office, gymnasium, front foyer, as well as many other places in the school have had major renovations done to them. There is all new tables and seating in the cafeteria. The main office and guidance offices have been switched and undergone renovations. The gymnasium was upgraded with new flooring and bleachers. Finally a fresh coat of dark blue and white paint has brightened up the hallways for the students to enjoy!

As students settle into the new school year and their new routine, I wish them a wonderful 2019-2020 school year. Always remember to work hard, study hard, get involved, and have fun while doing it!

Joke of the week: Why was school easier for cave people? Because there was no history to study!
