Over two weeks of online learning have come and gone. That may feel like it has been an eternity for some, or it may feel like we were in school just yesterday for others. Either way, the Rainbow District School Board (RDSB) confirmed on Thursday, March 25 in a letter that remote learning will continue until further notice.
This weekend is Easter, though, so that is cause for some celebration! That means it is time for a joke: Where does the Easter Bunny study medicine? Johns Hopkins.
Staff and students: do you have a furry (or not so furry) friend who has kept you company during lockdown? If you do, you can enter the MSS Covid Companion Photo Contest by submitting a photo through the Google form at https://forms.gle/hb1SaTA17bptJht3A by Friday, April 2 for a chance to win a pizza lunch! If you’re having issues with the Google form, you can also email the picture to mssstudentparliament@gmail.com. Just a side note: you don’t have to be in the photo with your companion. Voting will take place the week of Tuesday, April 6.
Tomorrow, Thursday, April 1, is April Fool’s Day! Don’t be too mean to anyone, but make sure to have a little bit of fun. It wouldn’t be April Fool’s Day without a joke!
A and C were going to prank their friend…But they just letter B.
If you are looking for some fun games to participate in, check out the MSS student council or Manitoulin Secondary School on their various social media pages. Currently, there is a ‘Where is Stangley?’ game running where people can guess where Stangley, the MSS mascot, may be across the Island in pictures.
April Break is less than two weeks away! From Monday, April 12 to Friday, April 16, staff and students will get a well-deserved break. Hopefully there will be some nice weather so everyone can get outside, be active and enjoy the sunshine.
Graduation photos have been rescheduled due to online learning. They will now take place the week of May 10. If you had already booked a slot for your photos they have been rescheduled to the same day of the week and same time as they were scheduled originally. If you haven’t already booked a time slot, you still can do so at prestigeportraits.ca.
Joke of the week: One Easter, a father was teaching his son to drive when out of nowhere a rabbit jumped on the road. Slamming on the breaks, the son said, “I nearly ruined Easter! I almost ran over the Easter Bunny.” His father replied, “It’s okay son—you missed it by a hare.”
Upcoming events include, the COVID Companion Photo Contest Deadline, Easter and April Break!
Until next time, “Dream and Believe. Learn and Achieve!”
