Welcome back! It is now officially March, two months of the year done already! Things are going by fast, especially as there are only four months left of the school year. As of right now, however, the weather seems to be the perfect opposite of summer vacation. The cold temperature has done little to slow down the students of MSS though.
Here is a snow joke for you in honour of all the cold days we have had: Grandma has been staring through the window ever since it started to snow…if it gets any worse, I’ll have to let her in.
The junior girls’ volleyball team is officially NSSSA champions! The girls competed at MSS on Wednesday, February 22. They secured their win in an exciting final game against the Espanola Spartans. Thank you to staff and student volunteers who helped make hosting NSSSA possible and a huge congratulations to the players and coaches!
On Thursday, February 23 the MSS curling team went to Thessalon for a curling tournament. The team competed in three games in total and played very well. Great job, Mustangs!
Friday, February 24 was Love Local day. Students and staff were encouraged to wear their favourite local brands and show off their Island spirit. Manitoulin merch was seen in all different shapes, colours and sizes!
The MSS musical is debuting this Friday, March 3 and will run until Sunday, March 5. Tickets will be available at the door while others are being sold at various stores around the Island. After months of hard work from everyone involved ‘Something Rotten!’ is ready for the stage! There will also be a buyout for students to see the performance on Friday, March 3 during afternoon classes.
That is all for this week! Until next time, go, Mustangs, go!
