Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary hosts successful fall luncheon and bazaar

MINDEMOYA—The Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary Inc. held a successful fall luncheon and bazaar recently in support of the Mindemoya Hospital.

The Mindemoya Community Centre was filled with vendors selling their wares, such as baking, clothing, knitting, books, Christmas decorations, gifts and much more. As well, a delicious homemade lunch was held in the downstairs area of the community centre.

Margaret Cadieux, president of the auxiliary, welcomed everyone to the event. “Good morning, everyone. Fall has arrived and we are here to open our annual fall luncheon and bazaar. It is wonderful to see so many people here today.” She pointed out the auxiliary holds an annual spring luncheon and bazaar as well.

The Mindemoya Community Centre was filled with a large number of vendors and customers at the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary fall luncheon, bazaar and bake sale.

“I am again thanking all those who have helped us throughout the year with fundraising events,” said Ms. Cadieux. “We have received support from Dr. Dale Scott and the Tour De Meldrum, the annual Blizzard Open golf tournament, Cindy’s Fashion Show and our ticket sales on our May 2025 draw for two quilts and a painting, and in memoriam all helps us fund our Mindemoya Hospital and contribute to larger apparatus that both hospitals share.”

“It is time for us to send our gifts of six bursaries of $500 each to graduates continuing their education in the health field,” continued Ms. Cadieux. “We have also donated to the Mindemoya Hospital emergency department, including a defibrillator monitor and infusion chair.”

Ms. Cadieux informed the large crowd on hand, “There is in the near future a purchase of infusion pumps with smart technology that include a drug library and many safety features for the nurses and the patient. All the pumps at both Manitoulin Health Centre sites are ready to be replaced. MHC will be looking forward to raising up to $400,000 for the project. We will be on board to do our best for our patients and our hospitals.”

“So, thank you for being here and providing your support, we will keep going,” said Ms. Cadieux who declared, “our fall bazaar and luncheon open.”
