MILAN PAUL SOGANICH
(MEL)
Milan was preceeded in death by his parents, John and Zuzan Soganich (Nezbala) and brother John. Milan was born in Sudbury where he grew up with his siblings John and Mary in the Donovan, attending St. Charles College then graduating from Assumption University where he met his wife Paulette. Mel is survived by his wife of 58 years, Paulette Soganich (Desjarlais), his sister Mary Racozcy (children Daria and Megan), and his three children Nicole and her husband Joe Mitidieri (children Vincenzo, Jessica, Antonio and Jenna), Michael and his wife Patricia Soganich (children Sydney and Nathan) and Chantalle Soganich. Mel retired from teaching at Marymount College in 1997. Mel was known for his love of Manitoulin Island, moving to Little Current permanently, fishing unless there was an east wind and hunting. Thank you to all the people who were able to take time and visit with Mel and celebrate his life with him. These gestures of kindness meant so much to Mel and his family. We are deeply saddened by his loss but are comforted that he left us peacefully. Thank you to the staff at Manitoulin Health Centre for the exceptional care that was given. A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at St. Bernard’s Church, 19 Hayward Street, Little Current from 6 to 8 pm. According to Mel’s wishes, no ties allowed. This is a come and go open house event. Please come share a story.
