MIKE SAGON
Mike Sagon of Zhiibaahasing First Nation passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Eleanor Antoine and dear father of Melody Antoine (Clifford Simon), Richard Mitchell and Clarice Endanawas (William Bell). Mike will be sadly missed by his sisters Barb Sagon and Mary Anne (Joe) Endanawas, grandchildren Jazmyn, Trinity, Skylar, Ayden, Landen and great granddaughter Aliyah. Mike will always be remembered by his nephews Ron, Derrick, Chris, Josh, Max, Charles, Carl, Lorne, Kevin, Brent, Charles Coburn and nieces Mary Coburn (Chuck Halliday), Crystal, Yvonne, Daisy, Theresa, Bobbi-Sue, Charlene, Nangoons, Jackie, as well as many great nieces and nephews, as well as his aunt Adeline Sampson. Predeceased by his parents Louis and Mary Louise (Niganwina) Sagon, brothers Raymond, Philip, Ronnie and sister Marjorie Sagon. Mike’s first love was his family, followed by his passion for logging, mechanics, and carpentry. He had an avid sense for the outdoor environment all of his life. He loved the outdoors. Every season he had something to look forward to; netting, fishing, tapping trees for maple syrup, and preparing for winter by cutting wood for his family and Manitoulin. Mike was well known for his sense of humour everywhere he went. Mike also had a strong strong bond with his younger sister Barb. He always made sure she was alright and was her special chauffeur. His favourite saying was “My name is Mike Sagon.” Visitation was held at the Zhiibaahasing Community Complex on Sunday January 13 from 1 pm until time of the funeral service at 10 am on Tuesday January 15, 2019. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy and may be made through www.simpsonfuneralhome.calease
