MIGUEL ANGEL RODRIGUEZ CORDERO July 5, 1947 – July 5, 2023 Miguel Angel Rodriguez Cordero was a caring husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He quietly passed away in Little Current on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the age of 76. Miguel was born to parents Maria and Damaso on July 5, 1947, in Leon, Spain, where he lived happily with his sister Ana and brother Damaso. It was there that Miguel met and married Clara with whom he shared their daughter Sonia. In his early years, Miguel was in the Spanish Military and was assigned to Africa. He often spoke of his time spent there. In later years Miguel, while living in Malaga, Spain, he met Laura Kernohan and eventually they moved to Canada. Miguel and Laura were married in Toronto where they shared a home for many years. In the summers, Laura and Miguel would return to Laura’s childhood home on Manitoulin Island, and eventually they took up residence in Providence Bay. He was a true jack of all trades, forever making, building and fixing. He loved driving, fishing and cooking. Miguel was also an avid gardener and outdoorsman. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his infectious laugh, kind heart and generous spirit by his family and friends. His humour will be remembered by his friends and family for a long time. Miguel was preceded by his late wife Laura, and survived by his daughter Sonia, brother Damaso, by his niece Becky and her family, Tracy, Morgan, Zachary, his nephew Dan and his family, Nat, Dana and Matt. Miguel will be honoured with a private remembrance.The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations to the Providence Bay Library can be made on his behalf.
