MINDEMOYA—At the Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC) board meeting on January 24, 2019, President Lynn Foster informed the board that the hospital received an anonymous donation worth $100,000.
“I’m very pleased to announce that MHC has received an anonymous bequest for the use at the Mindemoya hospital site in the amount of $100,000. It has been set aside for a potential Mindemoya emergency department expansion/renovation and I’ve also been told by Terry Land (the donor’s representative) that this was an initial distribution, so there may be more,” she said.
The restriction on the fund, from the wishes of the donor, was that it had to be used at the Mindemoya hospital site.
“We are going to honour those wishes and are hoping we would be able to apply these with our possible emergency department expansion,” said Ms. Foster.
“I’m very pleased and honoured that this was left to us as a bequest.”
