Busy times are ahead for the Auxiliary. Events were discussed and planned. As always, we rely on your support for success in the upcoming activities.
In March there will be a book sale and a casserole dinner. The book sale is in the cafeteria on Friday, March 2 (5 to 9 pm) and Saturday, March 3 (9 am to 2 pm). Lots of books are available, including children’s books. Jigsaws will also be sold. Donations of paperback books would be appreciated. Contact Laila at 705-368-2580.
The very popular casserole dinner is on Friday, March 23 at 6 pm in the Little Current United Church Hall. The cost is $15 per person. This is the first price increase ever! Tickets will be available from members and at the Tuck Cart Monday to Friday from 11 am to 1 pm. Donations of casseroles and cakes (9×13) would be appreciated. Call Marilee at 705-368-2547 and let her know what you’re bringing.
In April, our second annual spaghetti supper (with great entertainment) will be held in the Knox United Church Hall in Manitowaning. The dinner begins at 6 pm. You have a choice of meaty or meatless sauce. Tickets are $12 and will be available soon. Call Carole at 705-368-3376. We all had a great time last year, so get your tickets early.
On May 4 and 5, members will be busy at the NEMI Complex with the Regional Conference being co-hosted by the Little Current and Mindemoya Auxiliaries. The Conference is an opportunity for auxiliaries from a large section of Northeastern Ontario to get together to broaden their perspectives through hearing gifted guest speakers, to share ideas and concerns, to encourage one another and enjoy the experience. Members wishing to attend should contact Marilee at 705-368-2547. The difficulty of recruiting new members is sure to be discussed as this is a common problem in volunteer organizations.
The Cash Raffle Draw is opening soon. The prizes are $1,000 for first, $500 for second and three prizes of $100 for third. They will sell for $5 each.
Regular reports were given. All show consistent growth.
A thank you was received for the donation of $25,000 made in December. This is an example of your support at work as the money went to cover part of the cost of the Cardiac Telemetry equipment.
Thank you and please continue to support the auxiliary through the regular fundraisers—H.E.L.P.P. Lottery, coin Boxes, Fill’er up jug, Tuck cart\showcase and In Memoriam as well as the special events listed above.
