Now that summer is over, we have resumed our monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm in the board room of the Mindemoya Hospital.
Over the summer, we honoured two of our pledges to Mindemoya Hospital. We paid for replacement of all of the televisions in the patients’ rooms. This was at a cost of just over $23,350. We will continue to pay the monthly cable fee and supply ear phones. We also contributed $50,000 to the telemetry fundraiser.
We placed six hand-knit toques in the oncology department. If you feel you need a hat to keep you warm this winter, check them out. If this project is popular in the local chemo room, we will knit more for you.
Our next fundraiser will be a luncheon, bazaar and bake sale to be held on November 12 at the Mindemoya Community Centre. The event will start at 11 am with the luncheon starting at 11:30 am. Cost for the lunch is $10 for adults, ages 6-10, $5 and children 5 and under, $2. So go upstairs and shop for knitted and sewn items, bake sale items, books, plants, puzzles, raffle tickets, penny table and many, many more items. Then come downstairs for lunch.
Again this year we will support the Manitoulin Student Aid Fund with six $500 bursaries.
With your generous help we will have another great year.
