LITTLE CURRENT—Members of the Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC) Little Current Auxiliary are spreading out across the land with pledge forms in hand for an innovative fundraiser aimed at improving patient services.
“MHC Little Current Auxiliary is having a Rock-a-Thon,” said Auxiliary member Carole Labelle. “Our members will be rocking February 25 from 10 am until 3 pm at the United Church Hall in Little Current.”
But it isn’t Bon Jovi or the Rolling Stones that will be hanging out at the hall. Participants will be rocking the day away in… rocking chairs. “I’m not sure how I will make out,” laughed Northeast Town Councillor Dawn Orr as she canvassed her fellow council members for pledges. “That’s a lot of rocking.”
All proceeds from the Rock-a-Thon will be going to Patient Services at MHC.
Readers can support the Little Current Auxiliary’s efforts by pledging to any member of the MHC Auxiliary, or by sending an electronic money transfer to manddhore@hotmail.ca. Tax receipts will be provided for donations of $20 or more.
Island residents are invited to come to the United Church and cheer the participants on. The auxiliary will have a donation box at the Little Current United Church Hall on Water Street in Little Current as well. So come on out and help these dedicated volunteers get their rock on.
