Aho-DeathMERVYN VAN AHO

Mervyn Aho of Kagawong, formerly of Sudbury, passed away peacefully at Mindemoya Hospital on August 16, 2015. He was 70 years young. He will be sadly missed by companion Ardiss Fenske, of Kagawong, stepsons Alex and Jesse of Hamilton, daughter Tammy Ruberto (Tony) of Sudbury, loving sister Gloria Menard (Aho) of Leamington, dear niece Shelley Wilson (Wayne) of Essex and great nephew Jay Wilson (Jen) of Windsor, Ontario. Predeceased by nephew Mike Menard 2004 and parents Vaino and Beatrice Mae Darby (Aho). He was an avid outdoorsman and was close to nature. He loved anything out of doors and spent hours tinkering with his many hobbies. Solar and wind power was of great interest to him. Merv was very proud of his D J services and played on many occasions for INCO Clarabelle retirement parties. He started playing his own parties @ 1990 and with the Techno Beat repeating came Good Vibrations. He began holding singles dances and then went smoke free with Fresh Air Club. It was quite successful for years, long before Sudbury was smoke free. He had a huge sense of humour and cared about the environment. Mervyn was employed at INCO in Sudbury for 34 years, and was a member of the Dolphin Aquatic Scuba Club. At Merv’s request there was no visitation or funeral. Cremation took place right away and arrangements were entrusted to Culgin Funeral Home in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island. This was written in Memoriam for Merv’s birthday, June 6, 2016. Love Shelley, Wayne and Gloria. Happy 71st birthday!
