Loving step-father of Gail Shawanda, Abigail Aibens (friend Steve) and Wendall Shawanda. Grandfather of Kimel Roy, Amber, Cheyenne Manitowabi, Hailey Roy, Sequoia Roy, Tyrone Pakosigan, Jason Osawanimiki, Amelia Osawanimiki, Gabriel Osawanimiki, Cheyenne Shawanda, Luke Shawanda, Matthew Shawanda (predeceased), Emerick Shawanda, Bo Aibens, Cassandra Aibens, Lloyd Aibens, Jordon Aibens (predeceased), Shaylene Shawanda, Jolene Shawanda. Great-grandfather to Riverleigh Roy. Dear brother of Dominic Pitawanakwat. Predeceased by mother Mary Shigwadja, father Simon Pitawanakwat, and siblings Rose Logan, Harriet Shawanda, Clara Williams.
