M’Chigeeng man charged with 12 counts of sexual assault

M’CHIGEENG–On October 21, 2014, the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service commenced an investigation into a series of alleged sexual assaults that occurred over a period of five years on the M’Chigeeng First Nation.

As a result of their investigation, a 52year-old male of M’Chigeeng First Nation is charged with the 12 counts of sexual assault contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on a recognizance of bail with conditions on September 30, 2016 with a court date set for October 18, 2016 at Gore Bay Provincial Court.
