MAUREEN “PEGGY” (HUARD) MANNERS-RATCLIFFE

Manners-DeathMaureen “Peggy” (Huard) Manners-Ratcliffe of Gore Bay passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, ON. Beloved wife of Robert Manners. Dear daughter of Alice and the late Aurel Huard. Loving mother of Jamie (Erin) Ratcliffe and Joseph (Jamie-Lynn Clearwater) Ratcliffe (Jim Ratcliffe-father). Very dear sister of Mike (Carol) Huard, Robert (Colleen) Huard, Gary Huard, Dave (Mary) Huerd, Ginnette Tew (Glen predeceased), and Micheline (Rene) Bouchard. Peggy was a proud grandmother to Katie, Owen, Charissa, Presley, Reese, Brooklyn, Jordan and great-grandmother to Lincoln. Also sadly missed by her mother-in-law Claudette Manners, sister-in-laws Valita (Dave) Lloyd and Margaret Kennedy. Peggy also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her best friend Anne McMahon and Diane (predeceased). Peggy was born in Quebec and grew up in Kenora, ON. She was a dedicated health care provider in numerous long-term care facilities and hospitals spanning from Kenora and Nipigon, ON to Inuvik, NWT, High Level, AB, and LaRonge, SK. Peggy was passionate about the outdoors, antiques, and crafts, but above all else she loved her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her smile and sense of humour. “If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you’ve made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand”. At Peggy’s request, there will be a celebration of her life at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Trillium Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
