November 30, 1981 – July 17, 2011, 29 years

In loving memory of Matthew Jacob Lawrence Shawande “Patty”, dear son of Gail Shawande and raised by his grandpa the late Francis Shawande. Beloved brother of Luke of Point Grondine, brother Cheyenne, sister Jolene and special cousin Bo of Wikwemikong. Fondly remembered by grandma Teresa; uncles Bonnie, Wendell, Dave and Steve; aunties Abby and Valerie; cousins Emerick, Cassandra, Lloyd Jr., Shaylene, Baby Houston, Hailey, Sequoia, Jonathan, Jamie, Robert, Nicholas. Dear friend to Shawn and Chris. Great-nephew to Doris, Gordon, Roselinda, Henry, Nancy, Dixie, Albert, Joseph, Victoria and Emerick. Godparents Theodore and Dorothy Mandamin. He will be sadly missed by his cousins, friends, co-workers and his Miindoos and Barney. Matthew was employed with the Wikwemikong Public Works Department. Matthew believed in living life to its fullest. He was a free spirit, and loved to laugh. Matthew was always available and willing to lend a helping hand. He always spent time with his cousins laughing and telling jokes. Matthew’s favourite hockey team was the Detroit Red Wings, he liked listening to country music and laughing at the lyrics with his cousin Bo. Matthew will always be remembered for his humourous personality and his one of a kind smile. Rested at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni. Funeral Mass was in Holy Cross Mission, Wikwemikong on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11 am. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, Sudbury.
