Mary Lynn “Sharon” Shawanibin (nee Mahgagahbow) (Rivers) passed away at the age of 60 with family at her side. Daughter of the late Joseph Andrew Rivers and Violet Rose Marie Rivers. Loving first wife of James Edward George Shawanibin. Cherished mother of Fay Rivers (Mike) of Sault Ste Marie, Stephanie Shawanibin of Lansing, Michigan and Jason Shawanibin of Wikwemikong. Special grandmother of nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Dear sister of Ambrose Recollet (Bonita) of Wikwemikong, Julianne of Sault Ste Marie, Rebecca Barnhart (friend Lorne) of Toppenish, Washington, Randolph Rivers (Darlene) of Toronto, Ronald Rivers (Violet) of Wikwemikong and Daniel Rivers also of Wikwemikong. Godmother to Carrie Recollet and TJ Barnhart. She will be missed by her many other family members and friends. Sharon enjoyed travelling, Bingo, photography, beading, quilting, bowling and Pow Wows. She loved spending time with family and friends. When she was younger she worked at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, then worked at Oldsmobile on the assembly line. Her last job was for Kewadin Casino in Soo Michigan. She will be greatly missed. Visitation was from 4 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Buzwah Church. Funeral Service was at 11 am on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Holy Cross Mission, Wikwemikong. Cremation. Arrangements entrusted with Island Funeral Home, Little Current.
