MARION ELAINE WILKIN

MARION ELAINE WILKIN
May 17, 1927 – October 2, 2021
In loving memory of Marion Wilkin, who passed away peacefully at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the age of 94. Her dear friend, Merle Sagle, was at her side. Marion joined her parents, Ida Mae and William Parker Shultz and her husband Cliff George Wilkin (1924 – 2004), as well as her daughter Jan Mary Anne (1949 – 2018) and Jan’s husband Don Bainbridge (1945 – 2017). Marion was also predeceased by her seven sisters Muriel, Ida, Leona, Rachel, Judith, June and Greta and three brothers Elwood, Alexander and Alfred. She is lovingly remembered and will be greatly missed by her granddaughter Caitlin and her husband David Lindenbach, her one surviving sister Doreen Chertow, her niece Faye Clarke (Harold) and family, her “second daughter” Merle Sagle and husband Ed, as well as other friends and past neighbours. Born in Chalk River, Marion lived a wonderful full life on Manitoulin Island and will be remembered fondly for her quick wit and joyful sense of humour. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, reading, going to camp, fishing, baseball and curling, both as a spectator and participant. In her younger years, she was involved in volunteering. Marion always made sure her hair was done perfectly (every Friday!) and she took great pleasure in keeping her house spotlessly clean and her gardens immaculate. For a number of years, Marion and Cliff owned and ran a variety store in Little Current. Special thanks goes to all the Manitoulin Centennial Manor staff for their kindness and care of Marion. There will be no funeral visitation or service. Donations in memory of Marion can be made to the Angel Bus, care of Gore Bay Manitoulin Lodge Inc. or a charity of your choice. Please leave messages of condolence at islandfuneralhome@bellnet.ca.
