Time constraints prevented viewing of western portion of competition
To the Expositor:
My husband and I are frequent visitors to your wonderful Island and always enjoy our time spent there. We were, however, very disappointed when we went to the Manitowaning Fall Fair. We travelled from Naughton to watch our granddaughter compete in the horse show. We arrived at 1:45 pm on Saturday and were charged $6 each to enter the grounds. When we paid our entrance fee and were parking they left and were not charging anymore. That is my first problem, the second is the horse show itself—if the fair was over at 3 pm (which is something we didn’t know until reading The Expositor on the way home) why was the horse show still struggling on at 4:15 pm when we left? Because of time constraints we were unable to see the western portion of the competition, which was very disappointing.
In closing, I must say that the fair had very little happening to be asking $12 a couple for an hour and 15 minutes.
