GORE BAY—Manitoulin Transport has for the first time been ranked number one in the Mastio and Company’s 2023 edition of the Canadian national less-than-truckload (LTL) customer value and loyalty study.
“This is the first time we have achieved the top spot in Canada,” stated Jeff King, president of Manitoulin Transport, when contacted by the Expositor. “It is a pretty big deal, and we are pretty proud of the recognition. We have won being first in a category before, but we have never achieved the top spot overall in Canada.”
“It is due to the hard work of all our people,” said Mr. King.
The Mastio and Company’s national LTL customer value and loyalty study is a comprehensive industry-wide study which ranked Manitoulin Transport as the top carrier out of 360 carriers according to key decision makers in the industry.
Industry professionals consistently named Manitoulin Transport as their top carrier when surveyed about qualities pertaining to trustworthiness, ease of doing business, problem resolution, billing accuracy, shipments picked-up when promised, claims process and proactive communication.
“Receiving the 2023 Canadian Mastio top quality award reaffirms that we are doing the right things for our customers,” said Mr. King. “Manitoulin works very hard to provide customer service excellence and outstanding value. We are very pleased that Manitoulin is being recognized as the leading carrier in the industry.”
“The carrier performance score is the average of all the quality attributes measured in the Mastin report,” said Kevin Huntsman, president of Mastio and Company. “Manitoulin Transport is very deserving of the Top-Quality Award for the carrier with the highest overall customer value score.”
The 2023 study findings were based on interviews with 887 customers, 2,600 observations, approximately 360 carriers, and 5,400 qualitative responses to several open-ended questions about individual companies. The interviews were conducted by telephone with key decision-makers beginning in late February and ending in May 2023.
