M’CHIGEENG—The Manitoulin Secondary School Musical Theatre Program is thrilled to present a musical production of Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ licenced by Music Theatre International.
An iconic tale for all ages, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ recounts the story of an arrogant young prince and his castle staff who fall under a spell that will only be broken if he learns to love and be loved in return.
“Students are involved in every aspect of the production, from building and painting sets and props to sound, lighting, hair, makeup and set changes,” says Yana Bauer, MSS teacher and play producer. “The production also features several elementary (school) cast members who are excited to be on the main stage.”
“Everyone is welcome to join us for a magical experience in support of arts education at Manitoulin Secondary School (in M’Chigeeng First Nation). Don’t miss it,” added Ms. Bauer.
Public performances will take place on Friday, February 16 at 7 pm, Saturday, February 17 at 2 pm, Friday, February 23 at 7 pm and Saturday, February 24 at 2 pm in the school cafeteria.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youth 12 and under and can be purchased at the door, the Gore Bay IDA as well as Guardian pharmacies in Mindemoya, Little Current and Manitowaning. Tickets can also be purchased through TicketSpice online.
