Manitoulin Secondary School holds annual Snowmobile Fun Run

M’CHIGEENG—Students of Manitoulin Secondary School (MSS) had the opportunity to take part in the school’s annual Snowmobile Fun Run last week.

“We held our annual Snowmobile Fun Run earlier today,” said MSS teacher Allan Davy. “Part one had taken part earlier in the season and included the OPP (Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police) as well.”

On the Fun Run ride last Thursday, “we had seven students take part, along with (MSS teacher) Mya Holsen and myself along with one of the parents, Brent Leeson.”

“The weather conditions were terrific,” said Mr. Davy. “We did the Gore Bay loop of the OFSC (Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs) Manitoulin Snowdusters snowmobile club trails. The trails were awesome,” he said, noting, “there were a lot of deer out there. They were using the snow trails that volunteers have broken for the deer to seek food sources.” He said, “we had to go slower on the trails because a couple of times the deer were on the trail and they weren’t moving.”

“It was great day,” added Mr. Davy.
