Hunter discovers skeletal remains while in bush
WOLSEY BAY–On Thursday September 20, 2012 at 12:11 pm, Manitoulin OPP received a call from a male who was hunting on property adjacent to Wolsey Bay in Gordon Township, just west of Gore Bay, when he came upon human skeletal remains. Officers from the Gore Bay detachment attended the scene and have secured the area that the remains were located in.
The local coroner has been called in and will be attending the scene. The OPP Forensic Identification Unit has also been called and will be attending to assist in this investigation.
There is no foul play suspected in the discovery of these remains and OPP advise there is no concern for public safety with this investigation. The investigation is being conducted by Manitoulin OPP officers and detectives from the OPP Northeast Regional Crime Unit.
