(MANITOWANING, ON) – On February 2, 2020, at approximately 9:50 a.m. officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision (MVC) on Nelson Street, Assiginack Township, Ontario.
It was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
As a result, Joshua Hodgson, 27-years-old, from North Bay, Ontario, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) CC, and
- Novice driver – B.A.C above zero contrary to section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days. The driver is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay, Ontario on March 4, 2020.
