To the Expositor:
I have just returned from this year’s four-day Manitoulin Country Fest in Little Current.
I would like to sincerely thank all of the people, service groups, organizers and volunteers that assisted the radio station 100.7 FM The Island with pulling together another amazing Country Fest weekend—one of the best in Canada. Without them there would be no Country Fest. This is the fourth year I have attended and have already purchased my tickets for 2012. The venue allows visitors a chance to see the shops and experience Little Current at its best.
I’ve heard a rumour the venue will be changed for next year. Hopefully it will be staying in Little Current. I am confident the Council and all the businesses will support and encourage the festival because the businesses and service clubs—Lions, Legion, Curling Club and Minor Hockey, all benefit from Country Fest. There are a lot of outside businesses that also profit from this festival. The hotels are full and the restaurants and bars are busy every night.
Personally, I enjoy shopping at several different businesses in the Little Current/Manitoulin area, stay at a local hotel, and visit the restaurants and bars.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Fraser
