Manitoulin Country Fest celebrates the best in country music all weekend long

Dean Brody is Friday night’s Manitoulin Country Fest headliner.

LITTLE CURRENT—The stars are coming to Manitoulin, country stars that is, we’re talking High Valley, we’re talking Dean Brody, we’re talking Sawyer Brown, just to name the headliners at Manitoulin Country Fest (MCF). As has been the tradition, there will also be a chance to get up close and personal with the Songwriters’ Showcase aboard the North Channel Cruise Line’s Grand Heron.

At 11 am on Friday, August 18, Nicole Rayy will be joined by fellow lyric crafters Elyse Saunders, Genevieve Fisher and Jessica Sole aboard Le Grand Heron to provide a perfect opportunity to experience how songwriters come up with the hits that climb the country charts. (For tickets go to northchanneltours.com.)

The country music fun starts on Thursday, August 17 with headliners High Valley returning to the MCF stage, preceded by Jojo Mason and the River Town Saints. Onstage action starts at 7 pm.

Friday, the action just keeps going with headliner Dean Brody facing a crowd warmed up by Thompson Square, Nate Haller, Genevieve Fisher and Nicole Rayy. Ms. Rayy takes the stage at 4:30 pm.

Saturday, Sawyer Brown tops the bill, with The Hunter Brothers, Chad Brownlee, Beverley Mahood, Elyse Saunders, The Redhill Valleys and Mike Trudell. Saturday action starts at 2 pm.

Call out continues for volunteers to help make the three days run smoothly and would be a very painless way for students to rack up those volunteer hours.

Tickets can be accessed only online at Frec.me. If you already have tickets, guard them like cash advise the promoters, as lost tickets will not be replaced. Campers are able to check in as early as Tuesday, August 15 and the front gate will be open 5 to 10 pm Tuesday and 9 am to 10 pm Wednesday.
