Male arrested in M’Chigeeng drug bust

M’CHIGEENG–On March 1, members of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service, acting on a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant, attended a residence in M’Chigeeng First Nation and as a result arrested one male person in the the residence.

Charged with numerous CDSA charges is a 45-year-old male of M’Chigeeng First Nation.

Various illicit drugs were seized from the residence including cannabis resin, morphine pills and drug paraphernalia, along with $2,800 in cash. The accused was was released on a promise to appear and undertaking with conditions with a court date of April 25, 2016.

UCCM Anishnaabe Police would like to remind the public that the distribution of illicit drugs is not condoned in our First Nation and urge the public to report any suspicious drug activity to the UCCM Anishnaaabe Police Service or to the Sudbury Crime Stoppers.
