Mailboxes in Zhiibaahaasing First Nation to be updated

ELLIOT LAKE—Residents of Zhiibaahaasing First Nation will soon be getting new community mailboxes, that replace the old rural group mailboxes, says Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes.

Zhiibaahaasing First Nation will soon see the new community mailboxes, while residents of Walford and Webbwood won’t have to travel to other communities for postal services now that future of their outlets has been secured, according to Ms. Hughes.

“Zhiibaahaasing First Nation is getting some good news because we were able to facilitate the move to new community mailboxes that will replace decrepit, rural group mailboxes in that community.”

“We had understood the current mailboxes were supposed to be replaced,” said Kevin Mossip, a Zhiibaahaasing First Nation councillor said. “Yes, the ones we have now are old and rickety. They keep the mail dry and that’s about all they do.”
