There is no stopping the talent at MSS! Beautiful artwork is being painted in the hallways, fundraising is being done and track and field athletes are continuing to compete and improve on their personal bests despite all the class work that needs to be completed before exam time.
On Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7, one athlete from MSS took part in OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) at the University of Guelph. Congratulations to Sophie Hietkamp, who placed 10th in high jump, 13th in long jump and 15th in triple jump! Way to go, Sophie!
Tomorrow, Thursday, June 13, Mr. Doane’s first and second semester Grade 9 geography classes are headed out on an Island-wide field trip. They will be visiting some well-known local landmarks on their trip as well as visiting Mr. Doane’s farm and a dairy farm in the morning. After having lunch in Providence Bay they will be heading to the Manitoulin abattoir for a tour. Have fun, Grade 9s and Mr. Doane! A geography joke for you:

The new library is now open in C corridor! Just a reminder that all student library books are due back tomorrow, June 13. Don’t forget to sign them back into the library!
Friday, June 14 is a P.D. Day! A day off for students so they can work on their final assignments and projects that are due before exams! That means no procrastination or sleeping in.
Thank you to everyone who dropped their e-waste off at MSS last week. This will keep the e-waste out of landfills and help keep our environment healthier!
Prior to exams, EQAO will be written by students taking Grade 9 math this semester. A joke for the students:

Exams will be taking place from Friday, June 21 to Wednesday, June 26. The exam schedule has been given to the students and is based on the daily class schedule.
The Grade 12 graduation is on June 27 at 7 pm in the MSS cafeteria. Mark the date on your calendar, you don’t want to miss it!
