Lyda Agatha Mishibinijima, a resident of Wikwemikong, died peacefully at Wikwemikong Nursing Home on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the age of 71. Born to Cecile Neodigijig and Elie Takwadjiwan (both predeceased) in Wikwemikong on February 4, 1943. Beloved wife of Joseph Mishibinijima. Loving mother of Linda (Ken) of Wikwemikong, Judy (Glen) of Sioux Lookout, Stanley of Toronto, Leanne (Gordie), Velma (Aldophus); all of Wikemikong, Gary of Toronto, Rachel (Roger) of Wikwemikong. Proud grandmother of Dwayne, Jessica, Lance, Aaron, Nathan, Lynette, Andrew, Shawn, Jamie, Jolene, Luke, Byron, Heather, Jai-Lynne, Dalton, Naomi, Savannah, Scarlet and great-grandmother of Hailey, Juliana, Veronica, Quinn, Andrew, Micheal, Brayden, River, Natalie and Raelyn Dawn Sky (predeceased). Dear sister of Lucy, Bobby, Marilyn, Tony, Elaine, David, Margaret, Marilyn, Raymond, Suzanne, Janice, Boniface. Predeceased by Jerome, Ronnie and Violet. Lyda loved to sing in church, and to spend time with her children and grandchildren and husband of 55 years. She loved to laugh and joke, to dance and tease. She played the guitar, made birch bark teepees and canoes, did crossword puzzles, and loved to visit with friends. Family and friends gathered at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah on Saturday, July 5, 2014 11 am. Funeral Services were at Holy Cross Mission on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 3 pm with Father Henk Vanmeijel officiating. Burial in Wikwemikong Upper Cemetery.
