Dear Citizens of the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. area: here’s the deal. Ontario was quite happy to send about 200 Hydro One workers to assist you during your current crisis. To pay us back, you will have to reciprocate by sending several crews to Manitoulin next winter. Of course, they’ll have to stay all winter, because we never know when the power will go out, but it always takes at least three hours to restore, and often a day or two.
