Local Lions recognized for their tremendous effort to the club

GORE BAY—Three members of the Gore Bay-Western Manitoulin Lions Club have been awarded by Lions International for their efforts.

Lion Joe Baker has received a diamond Centennial Lion Pin, and Lion Bonnie Hore has been presented a Silver Centennial award for their efforts in recruiting new members to the club who are still in the club.

As well, Lion member Wilma Rupert received a plaque from Lions International in recognition of her serving 10 years as secretary of the local Lions Club.

A letter from Lions International to the local award recipients states in part, “congratulations on growing your club during the Centennial Celebration. Thanks to your efforts we will be able to serve more people in our next century of service.”
