Lillian Suzanne (Assinewai) Webkamigad, a resident of Wikwemikong, died peacefully at her home, on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the age of 87. Born to Mary (Trudeau) and Joseph Francis Mishibinijima, in Wikwemikong, on April 20, 1928. Predeceased by husband Alfred Webkamigad (Assinewai). Loved mother of Walter (Jean), Diane Jean (Raymond predeceased), Myles (Virginia M. Peltier predeceased), George (Thelma), Blake, Regina (John), Ephrem and Dominic. Grandmother of 23, great-grandmother of 35 and great-great-grandmother of four. Predeceased by siblings Agnace, Elizabeth (Clement Roy), Raymond and Raphael. Survived by brother Peter (Dorothy Shigwadja). Will always be remembered by her other children who called her mother, many nieces, nephews and friends. Will also be missed by her Amikook Senior Centre family. Her hobbies were sweet grass and birch bark crafts, bingo, quilting and volunteering. She loved sporting events, prayer group, cooking, bread making, loved traveling places, Amikook Elder, church choir, musician, former actress with Debahjehmujig and attending powwows. She also was a foster parent and loved her family get-togethers, such as birthday dinners. Awarded for Elder of the Year in 2003 from the Amikook Senior Centre. Family and friends gathered from 1 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni. Funeral Mass was held at 11 am on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Holy Cross Mission.
